These are a few of my favorite things

. . . new flowers for my flowerbeds, begonias, marigolds, zinnias, geraniums but especially my new rose bush.

. . . a husband who happily tilled my garden for me this morning and then proceeded to weed his own strawberry plants. (Shshsh! Don't tell anybody, but I caught him talking to them.)

. . .  a twelve year old whose opening line on his Russian History paper begins with, "What comes to mind when you think of Russia? Cold? Communism? Vodka?" And then launches into a discussion of his favorite Tzar--Peter the Great.  No. I don't have a favorite Tzar either, but Sam does.

. . . anticipating Daniel graduating from high school this Sunday.

. . . A little dog named Clancy who is finally--after six months of training--getting the whole house breaking thing and is actually going to the door on his own. In other Clancy news, I'm not quite sure how that huge heart fits in that tiny chest, but I'm certainly grateful for him.

. . . Straight As appearing on my report card this evening, it following naturally that I am on the Dean's list.

It's been a very, very good day.
